My name is Zuzanna, and I am a Master’s student of Culture and Change at Malmö
University. I am currently working on my thesis, which is tentatively titled: "Performing Digital
Identity: How Digital Collectibles Structure Self-Expression and Sense of Belonging." I am
fascinated by how Steam users use things like avatars, backgrounds, and showcases to tell
a story about who they are as gamers. Whether your profile is a work of art or just a
collection of your favorite games, I want to hear your perspective!
This questionnaire is anonymous and should take about 15 minutes. There are no right or
wrong answers; I am just looking for your honest thoughts. To help me understand your
perspective better, please try to answer in full sentences as much as possible.
This study is conducted for academic research purposes. Your participation is 100%
anonymous, as I do not collect your name, IP address, etc. The information you
provide will be used strictly for my thesis, stored securely, and deleted once my project is
finished (June 2026). You are free to stop the survey at any time if you change your mind,
without explaining why.
